Congressman Scott DesJarlais from Tennessee's 4th district expressed his support for President Donald J. Trump following the 2025 State of the Union address. DesJarlais praised Trump's outlined plans for economic growth, national defense, and energy independence.

According to DesJarlais, "President Trump laid out a clear path forward for the United States to enrich our economy, strengthen our national defense, and restore American energy independence." He highlighted the administration's efforts in removing certain policies and regulations and reducing government spending.

DesJarlais noted that under Trump's leadership, illegal border crossings have decreased significantly compared to previous years. He stated, "Most importantly, after four long years of open borders under the Biden Administration, President Trump was able to tell the American people that illegal migrant border crossings have hit a historic low."

The congressman criticized what he described as inappropriate behavior by some members of Congress during the address. He emphasized the importance of maintaining respect for the presidency and asserted that such actions would not hinder House Republicans' commitment to advancing their agenda. "Proper respect and decorum for the president is expected out of any decent human being," he remarked.

Following the address, DesJarlais congratulated Trump directly, saying, "Thank you, Mr. President, you earned this night."
