- Phase 1 improvements on Brinkley Road to make walking and biking around Blackman area schools safer. - A new Historical Marker honoring Dr. James Patterson (1887-1969) tells the history of a noted African American native son who dedicated his life to helping others. - Juneteenth celebrated freedom in Murfreesboro with a gathering at Bradley Academy Museum & Cultural Center. Marcus Lucas noted how the event annually celebrates “Freedom Day” with food, music, art and more. - Downtown Murfreesboro may soon get an 8-acre mixed-use redevelopment along Broad, Vine, and Church streets.
