Middle Tennessee's Michael Barnard has been named the Blenders Eyewear Conference USA Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office. This is Barnard's first C-USA weekly award this season and the second of his career. He joins Owen Stamper (three times) and Markus Varjun (twice) as Blue Raiders to earn the award this season.
Barnard tied for third at Georgia Southern's Schenkel Invitational with a score of 210 (-6). He carded rounds of 69-70-71, finishing two strokes off the lead. The Hendersonville, Tenn., native finished above five top-100 players in the Golfstat rankings, leading MTSU to a third-place finish behind No. 19 Georgia Southern and No. 24 Mississippi State.
Having played in eight events this season, the Blue Raiders have now taken home six conference player of the week awards, extending their program record. MTSU is back in action April 3-4 at Mississippi State's Mossy Oak Intercollegiate.
