Sheriff’s Sgt. Brian Stanley received an award from FBI Director Christopher A. Wray for Stanley’s role in investigating a suspect in pharmaceutical robberies resulting in a 10-year prison sentence.
Keith Sutherland, FBI Task Force Officer, presented the award to Stanley Thursday at the Sheriff’s Office.
Stanley was working as a Metropolitan Nashville Police Department detective in 2019 when he and partner Detective Shade Haislip investigated several pharmaceutical robberies in South Nashville.
Investigators developed a suspect who was indicted for pharmaceutical robberies in Tennessee and Kentucky. The multi-jurisdictional case was adopted by the FBI. The suspect was prosecuted and convicted of the robberies. He is now serving the federal prison sentence.
“I am very appreciative of the recognition from FBI Director Wray,” Stanley said. “This was one of many joint efforts I worked in Nashville with the FBI. I am grateful for the experience and the award.”
Stanley joined the Sheriff’s Office in August 2020.
