Sheriff’s school resource officers are sponsoring a cornhole tournament with proceeds used to buy clothing for middle and high school students.
This is the second year SROs held a fundraiser to help students with back-to-school clothes, said SRO Sam Trubee. Participating students enjoyed shopping with an SRO.
“My mission is to have this fundraiser for the students with money left over to help other students in emergency situations during the school year,” Trubee said.
The event will be from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Feb. 4 at Stars and Strikes Entertainment Center at 333 N. Lowry St. in Smyrna.
Cost is $120 per team of two competitors. Prizes will be awarded for first and second place.
The fee includes a breakfast buffet and a chance to win gift cards.
To register, please contact Trubee at 615-203-4862 or email him at strubee@rcsotn.org.
