Rutherford County Sheriff's Office Congratulations, Deputy Alexander

Congratulations, Deputy Alexander

Deputy George Alexander served Rutherford County residents for 48 years before his retirement this year.

Alexander started his public safety career as an Emergency Medical Services paramedic in 1974 where he served 14 years.

Sheriff Truman Jones hired him as a patrol deputy in 1988. He transferred to the Criminal Warrants Division in 2004 where he worked for the remainder of his career. He enjoyed working with his fellow deputies bringing in offenders.

His most memorable work happened when he volunteered as a SWAT Team member.

Alexander enjoyed working out and lifting weights with Jones.

Retirement does not mean Alexander will rest. He will spend more time working on his long-time lawn service.
