SRO Chad Dodson and his stuffed animal friends are involved actively in promoting the food collection during the annual Lascassas Elementary School food drive for Greenhouse Ministries.
Students are collecting food through Oct. 28. Each student is asked to donate at least eight non-perishable items for 5,000 items.
Dodson brought his stuffed animal friend Pancake, an Old English bulldog, to encourage students during COVID. Pancakes’ popularity led to the addition of Pancakes’ young twin siblings Waffle/Waffle and turtle Peek-A-Boo.
The stuffed animals are encouraging students to bring food items.
For every item donated, the student will get one vote to vote for Pancake, Waffle/Waffle or Peek-A-Boo as president of Lascassas School.
If students reach the 5,000 goal, each student will get a Pancake and friends trading card. If they reach 10,000 items, all students will be treated to a Pancake breakfast. If they reach 12,000, the top three donors will get to slime Dodson and an administrator.
The top donor in each grade level will be treated to a pizza lunch with administrators and Officer Chad.
Pancake won last year, much to the delight of the students.
