The conference office has announced Monday afternoon that freshman Adri Rhoda was named C-USA Freshman of the Week after her performances in the weekend-series sweep. This is her fifth weekly honor from conference this season.
The Hutchinson, Minnesota native helped push the Blue Raiders to a 2-0 record this week with 26 kills on a .333 hitting percentage. Rhoda was a huge part of the reason MTSU was the second highest hitting percentage and aces per set team in Conference USA this week.
To kick the weekend off on Friday, Rhoda aided the Blue Raiders to a sweep over the Lady Techsters after leading the team with 9 kills (9-3-18) on a .333 attack percentage. Rhoda also recorded two service aces and five digs in the match.
Against FAU, Rhoda had her sixth match with 15 or more kills, hitting home 17 kills (17-5-36) on a .333 hitting percentage. The freshman also recorded two service aces and two total blocks.
This week among freshmen, Rhoda was first in kills (26), kills per set (3.25), hitting percentage (.333), points (31.0), and points per set (3.88). She was also second among freshmen in aces (4) and aces/set (.50).
She now has 57 aces on the season which keeps her at second in the nation and is the third most in a season for a C-USA player in the 25-point era. Rhoda only needs one more ace to make it into the program's top-ten list for career aces in the 25-point era with 58.
