The conference office has announced Monday afternoon that freshman Adri Rhoda was named C-USA Freshman of the Week after her performance during the Red Storm Invitational. This is her third week in-a-row earning this honor.
Rhoda helped push the Blue Raiders to a 2-1 record at the Red Storm Invitational and was named as an All-Tournament selection for the second time this season. This week, Rhoda led all C-USA freshman in hitting percentage (.356), kills (47), kills per set (3.92), service aces (14), aces/s (1.17), points (63.0), and points/s (5.25) this week.
The Hutchinson, Minnesota native was a big part of the team's first P5 win since 2014 in a 3-1 win over a 10-0 Boston College team, having a career-high 19 kills to go along with four service aces. In a 3-1 win over Columbia, Rhoda had nine aces which is tied for the most in 25-point rally scoring era for the Blue Raiders (Dora Peonia recorded nine versus LA Tech in 2017) and is tied for the fifth most in C-USA single-match history.
She is just the fifth player in program history to earn three or more weekly honors from a conference office during a single season, the other four (Alicia Lemau'u '05, Ashley Waugh '08, Izabel Kozon '10, and Yanira Santiago '95) ending with highly decorated careers.
