94 percent of applicants to Middle Tennessee State University were admitted for fall 2018

At Middle Tennessee State University, 81 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 54 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Murfreesboro enrolled 21,631 students in fall 2018, including 19,252 in undergraduate and 2,379 in graduate programs, data shows. 10.2 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

90 percent of undergraduates are residents of Tennessee, and 8 percent are residents of other states. 2 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (64 percent) and Black or African American (19 percent).

The school admitted 94 percent of the 8,055 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 38 percent enrolled.
